I’m a joint-focused movement specialist who helps you create space and strength where you feel pain or limitation, so you can move and age with more freedom.
For over a decade I was a gym-loving hardcore Ashtanga ("Power") Yoga teacher. If you wanted to push your limits and sweat ‘till you dropped, you wanted in my classes. My yoga teacher training course was filled with enthusiastic movers who couldn’t wait to lead their own hot n sweaty classes. Then, in 2011 I had a major low back injury, and everything changed.
It was devastating. I was in intense, chronic pain. I started losing my connection to yoga and working out, and my sense of self as a capable, healthy person. After cycles of trying to go back to how I moved and trained before, only to re-injure my back, I knew I needed to figure out a new way to take care of myself. I was tired of fearing I would be in pain forever, being less and less active, and beating my body up. It was time to heal.
That’s when I began working with back pain specialist Dr. Stu McGill, and became a multiple-certified movement specialist with Functional Range Systems (FRS). After years of investment, research, collaboration and experience, I transformed how I moved - and how I taught. And the results were beyond what I expected.
My clients started to see the same positive changes I did:
their joints felt better,
aches and pain went away, and
they felt stable and strong.
They could pick up their kids without fear, or get back to an activity they thought they had to leave behind.
And so can you.

I’m amazed now that I’m deep into my forties that the second act of life isn’t the one marketers are DYING to pitch. To me, there’s so much gold in these years because there’s so much more ME in my life. I’m wiser, more grounded, experienced, and clear on who I am and who I’m not. I feel much more capable, and that makes me excited about what I can do next.
And the same can go for YOU.
But the approach to this era of us is different. It’s less about throwing ourselves into things and taking the hits, and more about knowing what we want and building on our strengths. You know — being wiser.
